What can be the rank difference in LoL?

In League of Legends, the difference in ranks between players determines how far apart they are on the ranking ladder. The ranking system in LoL consists of several main divisions, each of which has four tiers (from IV to I, where I is the highest in that division). Here is the ranking order from lowest to highest:

  • Iron
  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Platinum
  • Diamond
  • Master
  • Grandmaster
  • Challenger

Allowed rank difference in ranked games:

  • Flex Queue: In Flex queue, the rank difference between players on one team can be greater than in solo/duo, but there are still certain limitations to ensure fair gameplay.

  • Solo/Duo Queue:

    • Players from Iron to Silver can play together.
    • Players from Silver to Gold can play together.
    • Players from Gold to Platinum can play together.
    • Players from Platinum to Diamond can play with a difference of up to two divisions.
    • Master and higher ranks can only play with players within a 2-division range.

A larger rank difference between players is not allowed in ranked queues to maintain balance in matches and ensure the appropriate level of competition.
